Behind the Falls and in the Falls.

A full day at the Falls and I was quite unsure what to see and in what order. After picking up an organised excursion leaflet we decided to follow their itinerary using the free "WEGO" bus pass provided by the hotel.

I'd read about going behind the Falls so we paid for our entry and received a yellow poncho each. Oh dear looks like it could be wet! We then entered tunnels that went behind the Falls, very noisy and very wet but not much to see apart from a wall of water.

We then moved to an observation deck, WOW!

After walking by the river gorge drying out in the sun we boarded a Hornblower boat (the Canadian equivalent of Maid of the Mist) and received ponchos again! The boat took us by Bridal Vail Falls then into the spray and turbulent water beneath Horseshoe Falls. A pretty strange but amazing experience.

Again we dried our soggy feet in the sun and walked along a boardwalk beside the grade 6 (highest grade) rapids and finished the day by watching the fire works from our room.
